Look at this stuff, isn’t it neat? Just checking in to tell you I’m really a mermaid. I’ve got gadgets and gizmos a-plenty, just like Ariel. I’d say the only difference is that I wouldn’t comb my waves with a ”dinglehopper” a.k.a. fork. So, instead I got myself a peachy Tangle Teezer x Skinnydip London. I own way too many hairbrushes but on the other hand I also have way too much lion’s mane to tame. I look forward to try the Nails Inc London blue Mermaid nail polishes as well. I’m totally flippin’ my fins this summer!
Sorry about the minor delay in daily Florida blog posts. It’s Monday evening right now but I’ll to start with an update on yesterday – our Sunday. After the hotel breakfast, still in Wynwood, we went to my new favourite store. Target! You can find basically everything in there and we did, although we had to come back later to actually buy things because we we’re off to the Design District.
Miami Design District/MDD is very modern and obviously crazy beautiful. Look at the trees!
In the middle of the Design District there’s a place called St. Roch Market which is like a food court but a bit more fancy – yet not too pricey. Just the way I like it!
I had to try the matcha soft serve in a coconut from Chef Chloe. It was just as delicious as it looks. Yum!
If you’ve lost your appetite recently, I’ve got it! Jennie and I figured lunch would be a good idea as well and trust me, it was! Hummus for me, bibimbap for her.
There were people selling things in there, at the market. All kinds of super cute things! I would have bought a pair of sunglasses if it wasn’t for the gold details (I’m a silver gal) and the fact that I’m already a proud owner of pink shades thanks to Le Specs!
At MDD. Lovely surroundings!
A very high-end area with all the exclusive designer brands.
After spending a few hours in the Design District we went back to Target to buy all the unnecessary stuff that we needed, such as makeup tools, sweets and four drinking mason jars with handles from Ball. It’s so much cheaper over here!
Next stop: Nordstrom. I had to get new knickers, panties if you like, since I didn’t bring that many. I also found a pair of pink suede Jeffrey Campbell heels on sale. I wasn’t convinced since I’m a picky one but Jennie convinced me. Otherwise I won’t be able to go out in the city of Miami so I basically had to get them. Ha. They do look better on though and they’re really comfortable.
By the end of the day, I was so tired from the night before so I spent the evening in the hotel room with pumpkin pie m&m’s and called it a night rather early.
Ladies and gents, if you haven’t already heard of this award-winning body cream, I am more than happy to introduce you to it! The Brazilian Bum Bum Cream from Sol de Janeiro (to the left) is severely addictive. The smell, pistachio and salted caramel, is amazing. It is not too heavy, not too light and it lasts. After I’ve applied it, I always find myself smelling my arms throughout the day. I’m obsessed. Besides, I love the natural key ingredients for great moisture (etc.), yet it absorbs very quickly. It sort of feels like soufflé and the skin gets super smooth and pinchable. Ha! I highly recommend it, peeps! I went to buy the travel size today as it may come in handy soon enough, but I already have two big ones as well… How cute and Instagram-friendly is the yellow little pot by the way?
Oh, I also found a new soap. I needed it. Savon de Marseille, merci beaucoup!
How cool are these sunglasses from Le Specs? I want them all! I actually ordered one of them already, but you will have to guess which pair…
Ladies and gentlemen, this is the best hand cream/lotion/salve on the market as far as I know! It makes my hands super soft, it is not sticky at all and it smells like it ’does good’. KIEHL’S Ultimate Strength Hand Salve comes in particularly handy (excuse the pun) after work since I have a job with a high standard of hygiene; I have to wash my hands frequently and use hand sanitizer. My poor hands would certainly not survive without this product. I strongly recommend a hands-on experience! Hands down. Ha!
Come at me, chilly October mornings and grey skies! These black UGGs and the RAINS curve jacket in rust (no, it’s not red) was delivered today, from Boozt. I am so ready to rock them, as soon as I get rid of my stubborn cold!
My little sister Emma’s 9th birthday is coming up! In fact, my little brother’s 10th as well – at the very same day. However, they do not share the same parents. Anyway, my mother asked me yesterday what we should get Em, and here are some of my suggestions: Thomas Sabo charms, SUNNYLIFE floats, pink Ray-Ban and Under Armour sports clothing. She is a ‘Little Miss Princess’, a character of a kind with the kindest heart, yet with a lot of attitude; she knows what she wants and I love it (she is just like me that way). Besides, she is a busy little girl and my mother and I call her a fashionista. Emma rarely has time for nothing but her friends, and she always dresses in nice apparel. It does not really matter what she is wearing – she is beautiful inside and out and she is one of those people who looks good in everything. I wish I was as photogenic as her! Apart from that, Emma and I have a lot in common (for instance, we are both regular globetrotters), we often like and want the same things and we certainly look up to each other. Of course, she deserves only the best on her birthday – and always (the same goes for all of my siblings)!
When I found this designer/Arne Jacobsen measuring jug at Illums Bolighus several weeks ago, I had to buy it. I did not own anything like this before and it certainly makes measurements a lot easier. Apparently, ordinary glasses serves another purpose. Now, I just need a corkscrew. It turns out that bottles of wine do not open themselves. In the meantime, I will sip champagne; it requires no corkscrew, no measuring nor the right kind of glass – as long as it is consumed everything is in order. Cheers!
I love giving and receiving goody bags/party bags filled with small but useful gifts. It does not have to be expensive, but it does not have to be crappy things either. The last few days I have been collecting some items for myself. However, I did not put them in a fancy bag. Anyway, I am very happy with these products: I got some new Invisibobble hair rings with extra strong grip as well as orange ones, another lip balm/Baby Lips Dr. Resuce, a SuperShine Buffing File from Depend (ideal for those of us who are not allowed to have nail polish at work, it is super easy and it looks really nice), gorgeous hair elastics/scrunchies (with knots) from Becksöndergaard Copenhagen and last but not least, a glass bottle of Norwegian water from VOSS.
Brandy Melville, a store that I have never been to before that I visited in January, in Stockholm. It was a cool store with casual and chic clothing which I am very fond of. They are well worth a visit! I bought two simple, but oh so stylish tops! I love the details such as the stretchy ribbed knit and the ruffled trimmings. What do you think?
