No elegant woman follows fashion slavishly.

I have got some fashion confessions for you!

  • I am a Swedish sucker for suede. Suede boots, suede jackets (in love with my very own orange one from AllSaints), suede trousers – you name it. I would wear suede over any sort of skin any day. Yet, of course I like to vary.
  • The Chloé ballerinas above are to die for. The ultimate summer flats!
  • I think embroidery is such a nice detail, especially floral.
  • My favourite high-end fashion house is Balmain (Paris). They make such great, outstanding and well-made pieces of clothing. Just my style!
  • I am obsessed with the Vogue Runway app. Sophie, my stylist in London introduced it to me. Wow.

Now, I am going to Bedfordshire!

A bit of madness is key.

Good evening, here are a few things about me, myself and I!

  • Occasionally, I listen to British radio, primarily to hear the wonderful accent, but also to develop my listening comprehension. I also exploit Cambridge Dictionary (my very best friend), RhymeZone, Thesaurus and a verb conjugator as English skills resources. Of course, I make use of Google Translate as well, but you have to be critical to its translations – sentence structure hassle and American English! I often go to Google (the search engine) to look for sentences and check if they have occurred elsewhere; whether they are accurate or not. I principally visit top English newspapers such as The Sun, The Telegraph and The Times. Sometimes, I even have to use Synonymer.se for several purposes. I think it is fun though, I would not do it if I did not care. I love languages, English in particular. In fact, it is important for me that my future husband is able to speak and write proper Swedish or English (or both).
  • I counted my Victoria’s Secret knickers the other week, the pile is getting high so I pretty much had to. I have over 50 pairs! Pounds are for panties, it goes without saying.
  • Me and my grandmother cannot stand people who cannot pronounce the Swedish words “egentligen” and “Schweiz”. Almost every other person in this country cannot say “egentligen” properly, and uttering “Schweiz” seems nearly impossible. Let me help the ones in need once and for all. If you say anything like “ejengklien” you are wrong and “Schweiz” is pronounced “Schweitz”. My pleasure!
  • I have family and friends in so many parts of the world now. Barcelona, Brussels, Fort Lauderdale (Florida, close to Miami), London, Los Angeles, Sydney… I need to pack my bag ASAP and travel to as many as possible!
  • I do not believe in any kind of God nor spirits (ghosts, whatever) and I find it hard to be around individuals who do not share the same view there (at least we should not talk about it). It is so clear to me that such things do not (and cannot) exist, so it kind of bothers me that others think otherwise. I have got one man for you: Richard Dawkins. Watch him on YouTube. He is the best.

I hope you liked this content!

Little Miss Fabulous.

“Trendsetter. Stylish. Fashionable. Everyone wants to be like Little Miss Fabulous, all the other Little Misses just love copying her amazing style…”

I love giving and receiving goody bags/party bags filled with small but useful gifts. It does not have to be expensive, but it does not have to be crappy things either. The last few days I have been collecting some items for myself. However, I did not put them in a fancy bag. Anyway, I am very happy with these products: I got some new Invisibobble hair rings with extra strong grip as well as orange ones, another lip balm/Baby Lips Dr. Resuce, a SuperShine Buffing File from Depend (ideal for those of us who are not allowed to have nail polish at work, it is super easy and it looks really nice), gorgeous hair elastics/scrunchies (with knots) from Becksöndergaard Copenhagen and last but not least, a glass bottle of Norwegian water from VOSS.

Sweet guys are an endangered species.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is proof that blogging pays off! Ha! I received this package by post yesterday. It was utterly unexpected because there were no heads-up and frankly, I do not know the sender particularly well. I was sincerely surprised, thrilled and of course – grateful. I mean, these things only happen in the movies nowadays… I even got a cute little card/message, but it does not feel fair to expose that. Sorry! Tomorrow I will go and buy some tea filters so that I can taste this Bouquet of Flowers. In the meantime, I will just sit here and look at the Kusmi Tea metal tin because it is just so beautiful!

I’m a business woman in town on business.

Perks of spending one hour of Valentine’s Day at Sony Mobile Communications in Lund. I am back here doing what I love to do and doing what I do best – contribute with my creative thinking! It feels a bit weird that mum is not my host here anymore but I like being in the Glasgow Building anyway; surrounded by business men and all… Speaking of mother, I am now off to meet her for lunch by her new workplace, the IKEA office. I may not have a Valentine but I sure have a Galentine and I love her from the bottom of my heart. PS, regarding the headline, if you do not know what I am referring to we are clearly not friends!

COPENHAGEN FASHION WEEK AW17.

Copenhagen February 2nd with my dear friend Claudia. London Fog and a croissant for me at Original Coffee/Illum Rooftop. Revolver. Nachos (for sharing/two) and a blueberry mojito at Café Norden, followed by a sweet dessert, cheesecake and the best Irish Coffee! Unfortunately no pictures from the event at ARCH where we ended the day.

Brie mine.

Panicking in a coffee shop and allowing a distressingly odd combination of fillings to happen… Honestly, I crave this bread roll with Brie and salami on a daily basis. It is so good! I have eaten it more or less every week since the start of the year. Gateau never disappoint. They also have the best “semla” on the market. I will show you in another post!

Brandy Melville.

Brandy Melville, a store that I have never been to before that I visited in January, in Stockholm. It was a cool store with casual and chic clothing which I am very fond of. They are well worth a visit! I bought two simple, but oh so stylish tops! I love the details such as the stretchy ribbed knit and the ruffled trimmings. What do you think?

Burgers & Friends.

If you are looking for Malmö’s best hamburgers – look no further! Burgers & Friends serve the most delicious burgers that I have ever tasted, and if you go there, you must try their sweet potato chips as well. Yum! Paris Marché is my favourite hamburger with cheddar cheese, bacon, caramelised onions, lettuce, pickled green tomatoes and the tastiest truffle mayo! I am a sucker for anything truffle. Anyway, the restaurant was founded by the number one Swedish chef according to me, namely Melker Andersson. He is so handsome… Oh, and the ambiance in his restaurants; casual and cosy, yet with a touch of luxury – just what I like! Actually, I once had dinner with Melker’s brother and his family along with a few mutual friends. Ha! The pictures were taken about two weeks ago when I visited the place (for the second time) with my friend Claudia.

Sundai.

Good day! I am sitting in front of my laptop wrapped in a blanket and listening to some relaxing music. Also, I just had a cup of coffee after totally failing a smoothie. Dear fellow beings, “Less is more” and “Too good to be true” are risky to underestimate! I foolishly thought that I would make a delicious morning drink by mixing all of my favourite ingredients: Alpro Soya Vanilla, ginger, Innocent apple juice and elderflower, and mango (alphabetical order). I was completely and utterly w-r-o-n-g. Yuck! I should have known better. I am a person who usually prefer eating foods separately. For instance, instead of eating a brownie topped off with pieces of fruit, I would much rather eat the brownie or the fruit without the other. So, if you want us to run smoothly, then please do not bring me chocolate covered strawberries for Valentine’s Day. Champagne, on the other hand…

Yesterday at work, I helped a customer who were about to buy some oysters. The wife came along and said: “But we are out of champagne” to him, before she turned to me and continued: “I think you have to pair champagne with oysters”. My quick reply: “Well, I think you have to pair champagne with most things!” Mrs Customer: “Perhaps not for breakfast served with yogurt”. Moi: “I really do not mind champagne breakfasts”. She: “True, it is better to skip the yogurt”. It was such a great conversation!

Today is going to be a day spent lounging within the 19 square metres of mine. However, it is a beautiful day and I will probably pop out for another hot beverage, too. It may be sunny outdoors, but the temperature stubbornly remains freezing. I intend to go for a stroll in the city and holding a hot cup is a surefire way to warm up cold hands.

This morning, I chose my Starbucks mug that I got from my mum a couple of months ago, because I long away from Sweden. My mother and especially my siblings worship Dubai, and I guess, as do I, although I have never been there – yet. I have seen a lot of outstanding photographs from their holidays, but I truly believe that some experiences simply do not translate and that you have to go to know. But for now, I am stuck with the snow. Have a nice day!
