Tragedy of unspeakable terms
What happened this Friday is probably something that I will never forget. 27 people were killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.
As a society we have to do more for the mentally ill who are capable to do those kind of crimes. I mean, I can’t even imagine what the families (of the people who fell victim of the gunman) are going through right now. The loss of a child, a sibling, a beloved… Just the thought that it would happen to someone close to me is killing me.
However, I must say that I’m glad Obama won the election again. Friday, December 14th when the school massacre took place, I watched CNN and the BBC during the live broadcast. I also saw the speech performed by the president himself, live. The day before yesterday, Obama wasn’t the president of the United States, democrat or politician. He was a father wiping away tears at the press conference. That is truly how a president should be. Human.
Today, and since, my heart’s in Connecticut. My thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by the tragedy.
